Next Steps

Take Your Next Step at Bethesda Church

God has an incredible purpose for your life, and our Next Steps Class is designed to help you connect with that purpose. At Next Steps, you will spend one-hour diving into the vision and values of Bethesda Church as well as getting to know your personality and spiritual gifts through our assessments. Next Steps ends with an opportunity to join the Dream Team and start making an impact with your life! Next Steps is a once-a-month class on the last Sunday of every month.

Baptism

Baptism

Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized when He was on the earth, and we do this to follow His example. When Christians are baptized, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection. We believe that water baptism is a public declaration of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are beginning a changed life in Christ, and you are part of a new family.

Questions about Water Baptism

  • Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. It’s a public declaration of how Jesus changed your life. Being baptized shows others that you’ve decided to follow Jesus and allows them to celebrate this decision with you (Acts 16:31-34).

Baptism doesn’t save a person; it’s a symbol and celebration of salvation (1 Peter 3:21). The power that brought Jesus back to life is the same power Jesus uses to change our lives – and that’s worth getting excited about!

  • Jesus instructs us to be baptized and set the example by being baptized (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 1:9).

Obedience to Jesus shows we believe and follow Him. (1 John 2:3). Because Jesus went public about His love for us, we can go public about our love for Him. Being baptized shows that we turn away from a life of sin toward Jesus, the only one who can change us (Acts 2:38-41).

  • For everyone who decides to follow Jesus, baptism is the next step. Anyone who commits his or her life to follow Jesus is ready to be baptized (Acts 8:12). *For those wanting their child to be baptized, we ask them to be at least 7 years old.

Connect Groups

Life is Better Together!

Connect Groups have one simple purpose: to bring people together. We believe God created us to live in relationship with others and only then can we live the full life He intends for us. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why Connect Groups exist—to make these life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you.

Compass Class

Take your relationship with God to the next level

Compass class is an 8 week discipleship class that will take you on a journey to a deeper relationship with Christ. We cover topics like identity, baptism, generosity, healing and so much more. Jesus said, “go into all the world and make disciples”. It is our prayer that every person who comes to Bethesda Church becomes a fully devoted follower of Jesus. So, whether you are a new believer just beginning or a seasoned follower of Christ, this class will take your walk with God to the next level.

Outreach

We are a local church passionate about reaching our community.

We're all about serving others by showing God’s love in practical ways. We do this through meeting the needs within our communities and spheres of influence. Simple acts of personal kindness can open hearts to the love of Jesus for both those being served and those serving. The Bethesda Outreach team is made up of people who are using their gifts and talents to glorify God by serving others.
